The ESP32 from Espressif Systems is a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth SoC with integrated antenna switches, balun, power amplifier, low-noise receive amplifier, filters, and power management modules. The SoC has a receiver sensitivity of more than -97 dBm and consumes under 5 µA of power in deep-sleep. This ultra-low power chip has power saving features like fine resolution clock gating, power modes, and dynamic power scaling. It can perform as a complete standalone system or as a slave device to a host MCU.
This device can interface with other systems to provide Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality through the SPI / SDIO or I2C / UART interfaces. It is available in a surface mount QFN48 package that measures 6 x 6 mm and is ideal for mobile devices, wearable electronics and IoT applications. The ESP32 is capable of functioning reliably over an operating temperature ranging from -40°C to +125°C.
