The QCA6696 from Qualcomm is a Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 SoC that is designed for automotive connectivity applications. It is equipped with Dual MAC, and Dual-Band Simultaneous (DBS) capability to deliver faster, more secure, and more robust Wi-Fi experiences, including 2x2+2x2 MIMO. This SoC provides a throughput of up to 1.774 Gbps (Wi-Fi) and supports 802.11ax on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands (Dual Band Simultaneous) with Dual MAC. It is also designed to deliver new Bluetooth audio capabilities such as ultra-high-definition voice, music, and low-latency gaming over wireless headphones, earbuds, and speakers. The module supports various Bluetooth 5.2 features, including Bluetooth LE Long Range, flexible audio interface architecture, and a proven Bluetooth Synergy stack.
The QCA6696 supports Qualcomm aptX HD encode and decode, pass point for Hotspot 2.0, and Neighborhood Aware Network (Wi-Fi Aware) 2.0 features. It supports security features like WPA3, Enhanced Open (Opportunistic Wireless Encryption), and Easy Connect (Device Provisioning Protocol). It can be controlled via I²S, PCIe, PCM, and UART interfaces.
