The EFR32FG12 from Silicon Labs is a family of Wireless SoCs that operate in the 2.4 GHz and Sub-1 GHz bands. They are integrated with a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 MCU, 2.4/Sub-1 GHz transceiver, a DC-DC converter, and a power amplifier. These SOCs deliver a Tx power of 19 dBm (2.4 GHz) and 20 dBm (Sub-1 GHz). They have an Rx sensitivity of up to -112.2 dBm. These SoCs require a DC supply of 1.8-3.8 V and consume 1.5 µA of current in deep sleep mode. They can be controlled via UART, SPI, SmartCard, IrDA, I2S, Low Energy UART (LEUART) and I2C interfaces.
The EFR32FG12 SoCs support proprietary, wireless M-Bus, selected IEEE 802.15.4g SUN-FSK PHY and LPWAN protocols. They have a 12-channel peripheral reflex system, low-energy Sensor interface & a multi-channel capacitive sense interfaces and support BPSK, GFSK, DBPSK, OOK, ASK, DSSS and FEC modulation techniques. These SoCs are available in various package options.
This is a certified Wi-SUN solution that combines the industry-leading EFR32 hardware platform, full-featured IPv6 mesh stack, and advanced development tools to enable secure wireless connectivity for a broad range of applications, from advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) to street lighting networks, asset management, and smart city sensors such as parking, air quality, and waste management.
