The RX23W from Renesas is a 32-bit Microcontroller with full Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy support for system control and wireless communication in IoT endpoint devices. The MCU delivers excellent communication characteristics, with a reception sensitivity level of -105 dBm at 125 kbps. It has full function support for Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy long range and mesh networking and provide excellent reception performance.
Built around Renesas’ RXv2 CPU core, the RX23W MCU provides outstanding computing performance, operating at a maximum clock frequency of 54 MHz with excellent power efficiency. The RX23W also incorporates Renesas’ exclusive security function, the Trusted Secure IP (TSIP), that provides robust protection against threats to IoT devices such as eavesdropping, tampering, and viruses. It includes security functions that are vital for Bluetooth® 5.0 Low Energy (BLE) and IoT devices along with peripheral functions such as touch keys, USB, and CAN, enabling system control and wireless communication with devices using a single chip.
The RX23W is available in a compact 83-pin LGA package that measures 6.1 x 9.5 mm. It requires a DC supply voltage from 1.8 to 3.6 V and can be combined with Renesas’ complementary analog and power offerings to create comprehensive solutions for a variety of applications.
The MCU is certified under Radio Law for multiple countries, including Japan and the United States (Note), and is Bluetooth SIG certified. This eliminates the need for additional RF design work, tuning, or specialized RF knowledge.
The RX23W lineup also includes a module with a built-in antenna and oscillator.
