The EFR32BG24 Series from Silicon Labs are Bluetooth 5.4 Low Energy SoCs that are designed for IoT wireless connectivity applications. They support direction finding using Angle-of-Arrival (AoA) and Angle-of-Departure (AoD), Bluetooth mesh, and proprietary Bluetooth protocols. These SoCs include a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a sample rate of 1 Msps or a 16-bit ADC with a sample rate of 76.9 Ksps along with a low-frequency RC oscillator with precision mode to replace 32 kHz sleep crystal (LFRCO). They support (G)MSK and (G)FSK modulation schemes with fully configurable shaping. The SoCs require a DC supply from 1.71 to 3.8 V and consume less than 156.8 mA of current in Tx mode and 4.4 mA of current in Rx mode.
The EFR32BG24 Series SoCs have 32-bit 78.0 MHz ARM Cortex-M33 MCU with DSP instruction and a floating-point unit for efficient signal processing, up to 1536 kB flash program memory, and up to 256 kB RAM data memory. They provide a Tx power of 19.5 dBm and have an Rx sensitivity of -105.7 dBm. These SoCs are available in QFN40/QFN48 packages that measure up to 6.00 x 6.00 x 0.85 mm and can be controlled via GPIO, UART, I2C, SPI, USART, and EUSART interfaces. They are ideal for smart homes, lighting, and portable medical products like gateways/hubs, sensors, switches, door locks, smart plugs, LED lighting, luminaires, blood glucose meters, and pulse oximeters.
