The SiWx917 from Silicon Labs is a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6+Bluetooth LE 5.1 SoC for ultra-low power IoT wireless devices. It provides secure cloud connectivity using Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth, Matter, and IP networking. This SoC includes an ultra-low power Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) 5.1 wireless CPU, an integrated micro-controller (MCU), security, peripherals, and a power management sub-system. In Wi-Fi mode, it has a single-spatial stream and supports 802.11ax features such as OFDMA, UL/DL MU-MIMO, and Target Wake Time (TWT). This chip requires a DC supply from 1.75 to 3.63 V, consumes less than 10 µA of current sleep/standby mode, and less than 1 µA of current in deep sleep mode.
The SiWx917 features a multi-threaded processor (ThreadArch®), baseband digital signal processor, analog front end, 2.4GHz RF transceiver, and an integrated power amplifier. It also integrates a 32-bit 180 MHz ARM Cortex-M4 MCU processor with FPU, embedded SRAM, FLASH, AI/ML accelerator, and enhanced PSA-L2 certifiable security engine for efficient signal processing. This chip can be controlled via USART, UART, SPI, SIO, I2C, and I2S interfaces. It is available in an 84-pin QFN package that measures 7 x 7 mm and is ideal for a wide range of embedded wireless IoT applications.
