The BlueNRG-LP from STMicroelectronics is a Programmable Bluetooth Low Energy 5.2 SoC that is designed for ultra-low latency applications. It provides a data rate of up to 2 Mbps and is compliant with Bluetooth mesh networking specifications. This SoC delivers a programmable output power of up to 8 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of -97 dBm @1 Mbps. It requires a DC supply from 1.7 - 3.6 V, consumes 4.3 mA (Tx mode), and 3.4 mA (Rx mode) of current. The SoC is based on an ARM Cortex M0 processor with a flash memory of 256 kB, RAM of 64 kB, one-time-programmable (OTP) memory area of 1 kB, and ROM memory of 7 kB.
The BlueNRG-LP supports UART, SPI, I2C, LPUART, and ADC interfaces. It consists of a high-efficiency SMPS step-down converter and an integrated PDR circuitry with a fixed threshold that generates a device reset when the voltage drops under 1.65 V. The SoC has enhanced security hardware support with dedicated hardware functions such as true random number generator (RNG), encryption AES maximum 128-bit security co-processor, public key accelerator (PKA), CRC calculation unit, 48-bit unique ID, flash memory read and write protection. It is available in QFN48/QFN32/WCSP49 packages and is ideal for industrial and home automation, smart lighting, fitness, wellness, sports, healthcare, consumer medical, security/proximity, remote control, and assisted living applications.
