RF & Microwave Anechoic Chambers
An anechoic chamber is a room designed to completely absorb reflections electromagnetic waves and sound. The room is also insulated from all exterior noise sources. Anechoic Chambers are used for performing measurements of antenna radiation patterns, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and radar cross section measurements. The size of the chamber depends on the application, they can be large enough to house objects as large as aircrafts. The key difference between radio frequency (RF) anechoic chamber and acoustic anechoic chambers is the interior surfaces of the RF anechoic chamber are covered with radiation absorbent material (RAM) instead of acoustically absorbent material.
