Qorvo Introduces RF Front End Solutions for 5G Infrastructure

At IMS 2018, Qorvo has introduced five new power amplifiers and front end modules that further expand its portfolio of RF products for massive MIMO and 5G base stations. These highly integrated, efficient, small-size modules support all frequency bands used for pre-5G and 5G architectures, from 3 GHz to 39 GHz.

The market for massive MIMO base station configurations is expected to reach USD $1 billion in RF solutions by 2022. Qorvo’s innovative gallium nitride (GaN) technology, with industry-leading performance, efficiency and power, enables transmission of multiple data streams with greater capacity, supporting rapid, cost-effective implementation of 5G networks. The new 5G products include two 2-stage power amplifiers, two integrated front end modules (FEMs), and a wideband driver amplifier. Qorvo recently announced two additional amplifiers – the QPF4005 and the QPF4006 – the industry’s first GaN FEMs for 39 GHZ. Click here to read more.

Custom MMIC Unveils Next-Gen GaAs & GaN MMICs at IMS 2018

At IMS 2018, Custom MMIC has unveiled a new Ultra Low Noise Amplifier (ULNA) MMIC that provides a low noise figure of 0.6 dB, outperforming most rivaling discrete component implementations. The CMD283C3 operates over a frequency range from 2 GHz to 6 GHz (S & C-band) and has output IP3 of +26 dBm.

Custom MMIC has also introduced four new GaAs MMIC digital attenuators. The CMD279 and CMD280 operate up to 30 GHz with 5-bit control and 15.5 dB attenuation range. The CMD281 which is a 2-bit attenuator that operates from DC to 35 GHz and the CMD282 an attenuator that operates up to 40 GHz. All four devices offer input IP3 of +42 dBm. Click here to read more.

HUBER+SUHNER Showcases Innovative RF Connectivity Solutions at IMS 2018

At the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) event, HUBER+SUHNER is showcasing the latest additions to its extensive RF portfolio. NXP Expands GaN & LDMOS High Power RF Product Offerings for 5G Applications

NXP Semiconductors has expanded its Gallium Nitride (GaN) and LDMOS technology portfolios to offer a full range of high power products. pSemi Introduces World’s First 50 GHz Digital Step Attenuator at IMS 2018

pSemi is showcasing its range of 5G millimeter (mmWave) products, that include a 40 GHz switch, two 60 GHz switches and a 50 GHz DSA at IMS 2018. This mmWave DSA is the first single-chip digital step attenuator (DSA) to support the entire 9 kHz to 50 GHz frequency range.
