Low Noise MMIC Amplifier from 0.5 to 8 GHz

The CMA-83LN+ from Mini Circuits is a low noise MMIC amplifier that operates from 0.5 to 8 GHz. It delivers a flat gain and a P1dB of 20.3 dBm at 2 GHz with a noise figure of 1.3 dB. The amplifier operates on a single 5V or 6V supply and is well matched to 50 ohms. It is available in a tiny, low profile package that measures 0.12 x 0.12 x 0.045 inches and is ideal for sensitive, high-dynamic-range receiver applications. The MMIC amplifier is bonded to a multilayer integrated LTCC substrate and then hermetically sealed under a controlled Nitrogen atmosphere with gold-plated cover and eutectic Au-Sn solder. The BC127 from Sierra Wireless is a Certified Bluetooth 5 module with an integrated antenna. This 2.4 GHz module provides a transmit power of 10 dBm and a data rate of up to 3 Mbps (typical 1.6 Mbps). It has an RF sensitivity of -88 dBm and an operating range of up to 30 m. The 75P-217 from JFW Industries is a 75 Ohm solid-state programmable attenuator that operates from 5 to 2150 MHz. It has an attenuation range of 0 to 95 dB with 1 dB steps. The attenuator has seven individually controlled attenuation steps of 1 dB, 2 dB, 4 dB, 8 dB, 16 dB and 32 dB. It is rated for 27 dBm of RF input power.
