Step-by-Step Document Simplifies Cable Assembly Compliance Testing

Keysight Technologies recently announced the availability of a new Method of Implementation (MOI) document for cable assembly compliance tests defined in Rev. 1.1 of the USB Type-C specification and Rev. 1.0 of the USB Type-C Compliance Test Specification (CTS). This USB Type-C MOI, together with a test package such as Keysight’s state file, works with the M937xA PXIe multiport vector network analyzer to provide the compliance test solution for USB Type-C cable assemblies. This step-by-step guide of measurement procedures for time and frequency domains simplifies compliance setup and testing.

Driven by the demand for more bandwidth, high-speed digital standards continue to evolve to higher data rates. This 10-Gbps USB 3.1 specification delivers more than double the practical data rate compared to the current 5-Gbps USB 3.0. Read more

New Family of UHF RFID Tags to Stop Fraud and Counterfeiting in High Fashion Apparel

Fujitsu recently announced that it is now shipping its new Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) RFID tags for industrial garments and flat linens as well as its new Fashion tag for formal wear, high fashion apparel, garments, and accessories. This new Fujitsu WT-A522L and WT-A522LA Fashion tags, which are about the size of a typical shirt collar stay, are virtually imperceptible when installed in the sheerest of garments. For industrial applications, Fujitsu is introducing the new, ultra-rugged, WT-A533 tag for industrial linen processes.

Unlike most garment RFID tags, this new Fashion tag is made from transparent materials and is virtually invisible when sewn into clothing or accessories. From fine silks and lace to sheer gowns, this tag provides Fashion Designers and Retailers protection against counterfeiting and fraud. Read more

Cobham Wireless is a part of a pioneering project to enable high-quality LTE Technology on a moving sea vessel using its market-leading digital DAS (Distributed Antenna System). This ensures crew and passengers can enjoy communications services as far as 50 km from the shoreline without the need to use expensive and service-limiting IP-over-satellite technology.
