1:1 Transmission Line Transformer from 45 to 1200 MHz

The MRFXF0025 is transformer from MiniRF that operates from 45 to 1200 MHz. It has a characteristic impedance of 75 ohms, insertion loss from 0.7dB to 0.8dB and Input return loss of 25 dB. This transformer has 1:1 impedance ratio and can handle up to 2 Watts of power. It is ideal for broadband and wireless communication applications and is available in a very small, low cost, and highly reliable surface mount package. Ultra-Compact, High Sensitivity GNSS Module

The MAX-8 series of GNSS modules from u-blox receives GPS, GLONASS, QZSS and SBAS signals. This cost-efficient series delivers high sensitivity of -166 dBm with minimal acquisition times in an ultra-compact MAX form factor. It also provides message integrity protection, geo-fencing, spoofing detection, and odometer functionalities. These modules have a high level of integration capability with flexible connectivity options and is available in a 18 pin LLC (Leadless Chip Carrier) package with dimensions 9.7 x 10.1 x 2.5 mm, 0.6 g weight. Anritsu Adds Signal Integrity Testing Capability to its VNA Famalies

Anritsu continues to address the test needs of signal integrity (SI) engineers with the introduction of options for its VectorStar and ShockLine Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs). This VectorStar Eye Diagram and ShockLine Advanced Time Domain (ATD) options are part of the expanding Signal Integrity capabilities offered by Anritsu. They provide SI engineers with improved tools to conduct channel diagnostics and model validation of high-speed digital circuit designs.

According to Dr. Jon Martens - Fellow at Anritsu, Increasing data rate is making signal channel characterization more challenging and hence VNAs are becoming more of a staple in signal integrity measurements, however, additional capabilities in processing and visualizing data are beneficial. This addition of tools to the VectorStar and Shockline VNA families will help signal integrity engineers be more efficient in analyzing their designs. Read more

Radio Frequency Systems Launched Field-Installable 4.3-10- Style Connector

Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) has announced the availability of a field-installable 4.3-10- style connector as a supplementary offering to the existing factory-fit jumper orientations. These compact RF connectors are the ideal complement to RFS’ foam dielectric coaxial cables and feature optimized PIM stability to meet industry demands. This two-piece design inhibits the potential of loose parts and simplifies installation in the field to support mobile operators in their deployment of LTE, 5G and small cell networks.

These connectors were previously available as pre-assembled solder-on Factory-Fit Jumper Cables based on the 4.3-10 standard, but will now be offered in mechanically-attached versions, as well. Read more

Resonant Signs its First Licensing Agreement for SAW Duplexer Designs

Resonant a company that has developed low cost, high performance acoustic wave RF Filters has signed their first licensing agreement with an existing customer. This license agreement encompasses two high-volume Surface Acoustic Wave, or SAW, duplexer designs for filters traditionally fabricated as Bulk Acoustic Wave, or BAW duplexers.

This license agreement follows the development engagement that was outlined in the memorandum of understanding signed with this customer in February 2016. As the project advances, they are looking forward to further validate their abilities to achieve complex and competitive RF front-end filters that they believe can be developed in less than half the time and manufactured at approximately half the unit cost of traditional designs. Record Attendance at EDI CON China 2016

EDI CON China 2016, the event organized by Microwave Journal in China took place from 19-21 April, 2016 in Beijing at the China National Convention Center (CNCC). Continuing a strong trajectory of growth, EDI CON China achieved a 35% increase in number of attendees and a 20% increase in exhibition space when compared to the previous year. This year’s conference included partnerships with the China Radar Industry Association Conference and EMC China Conference/Exhibition.

Ivar Bazzy, President of Horizon House, the conference's organizer said that there were over 3,100 unique attendees, many of whom attended all three days. There were technical sessions organized around tracks focused on RF, microwave, and high-speed digital design, modeling and measurement, EMC/EMI, radar, and systems engineering. Read more
