Webinar Overview
By the end of 2020, 5G networks in some regions of the world are expected to achieve adoption rates as high as 90% of those for 4G networks. And 5G adoption is expected to spike as compatible consumer devices grow in number and fall in price. Several vendors are expected to introduce 5G smartphones as inexpensive as US$150 by the end of 2020. According to GSMA, 5G could account for as many as 1.1 billion connections by 2025. By then, 5G networks are likely to cover one third of the world's population. The impact on the mobile industry and its customers will be profound. Clearly, the future for 5G networks appears bright. But what might that future look like in real life?
Join us for an insightful, thought-provoking discussion of "The Future of 5G." Featured speakers will include Dr. Mohamed Madkour, vice president of Wireless Networks Marketing & Solutions, and Paul Scanlan, CTO for the Carrier Business Group at Huawei Technologies. Longtime tech journalist David Pringle will moderate the talk between Paul and Mohamed to discuss how developments such as support for consolidated management, multiple legacy technologies and network convergence are helping carriers deploy 5G and deliver services to businesses and consumers more quickly and economically than ever. The panel will also highlight some of the impediments to the growth and evolution of 5G, and how these are being addressed. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in a live Q&A.
