mmWave Semiconductor Industry Technologies: Status and Evolution
A number of semiconductor technologies capable of operating at frequencies up to 90GHz are currently available. Each has particular strengths and weaknesses with respect to various applications identified for millimetre wave transmission systems.
This document takes the use cases identified by the ETSI Millimetre Wave Transmission Industry Specification Group in ETSI GS mWT 002 and examines the demands these make on semiconductor components in order to meet the system requirements.
