ITU’s IMT-2030 Vision: Navigating Towards 6G in the Americas
The definition of new generation or “G” for mobile systems is a long and complex process which is centered around the ITU-R’s creation of new IMT (International Mobile Telecommunications) radio interface standards. For the next generation, ITU-R has started work on IMT-2030 (as these systems are expected to be deployed around the year 2030) which will be commonly referred to as “6G.
