NXP Opening New GaN Foundry in Arizona to Develop 5G Transistors & Power Amplifiers

NXP Semiconductors is opening a new RF Gallium Nitride (GaN) foundry in Chandler, Arizona, United States later this month. This state-of-the-art 150 mm (6-inch) wafer size fab is being developed to specifically manufacture 5G transistors and RF power amplifiers. NXP is using its high-volume manufacturing expertise and consistency to provide provides process optimization and streamlined innovation to support 5G deployment.

The opening ceremony for this 5G GaN Fab will take place on September 29, 2020. It will be streamed online as they celebrate with NXP executives, government officials, customers, industry experts and more. With their high-volume manufacturing expertise and consistency, the internal factory provides process optimization and streamlined innovation. This new Fab will be one of the most advanced RF factories to be built in the United States and will support the 5G communication infrastructure supply chain.
