KRYTAR Introduces Two New Directional Couplers from 0.4 to 18.5 GHz

KRYTAR, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment, has announced two new Directional Couplers operating in the wideband frequency range of 0.4 to 18.5 GHz (L- through K-Bands) offering Nominal Coupling of 10 dB and 16 dB. These new couplers are ideal for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including wireless communications, radar and satellite communications (SATCOM).

KRYTAR’s new Directional Coupler, Model 100418510, offers excellent performance ratings including Nominal Coupling (with respect to output) of 10 dB, ±1.5 dB. Frequency Sensitivity is ±1.5 dB. The directional coupler exhibits Insertion Loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.5 dB, Directivity of >12 dB, and maximum VSWR of 1.35 at any port.

Directional Coupler, Model 100418516, offers good performance ratings including Nominal Coupling (with respect to output) of 16 dB, ±2.0 dB. Frequency Sensitivity is ±1.4 dB. The directional coupler exhibits Insertion Loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.1 dB, Directivity of >12 dB, and maximum VSWR of 1.35 at any port.

Both Directional Couplers offer an Input Power Rating of 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The directional couplers come with industry-standard N-Type Female Connectors and optional SMA Female Connectors. Each compact package measures just 4.40 inches (L) x 0.53 inches (W) x 0.73 inches (H), and weighs only 5 ounces. The operating temperature is -54° to 85° C.

KRYTAR’s extended family of Directional Couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many ultra-broadband applications including electronic warfare (EW)mmWave5G NR (New Radio)Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, SATCOM, radar, MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) radio links, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming, and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing environments. Many KRYTAR products can meet the rigorous demands of both space and thermal vacuum applications.
