GCT Semiconductor’s latest LTE IoT chip has been certified by Verizon and accepted into their portfolio of approved Cat-M1 chips. This approval allows for shorter certification and design time, enabling easier, faster and cheaper integration into IoT devices on Verizon’s LTE Cat-M1 network. The chip was unveiled at the on-going MWC Americas 2018 event in Los Angeles.
The GDM7243i is a fully integrated multimode and feature-rich Cat-M1 baseband + RF chip that supports Verizon’s Cat-M1 network. This multi-band solution also supports an additional 15 other LTE bands, thus allowing for a maximum range of commercial device market deployment possibilities.
GCT currently offers a GDM7243i Development Kit with tools to fast track the Verizon LTE Cat-M1 modem integration. The company is working with several leading module vendors worldwide that quote and supply GDM7243i-based modules for commercial deployments. GCT is showcasing the IoT chip currently at MWC Americas 2018 in Los Angeles from September 12-14.
