Anokiwave Introduces Ku Band Beamformer ICs for Phased Array-based SATCOM Ground Terminals

Anokiwave, a cutting-edge provider of highly integrated IC solutions for mm-Wave markets and Active Antenna based solutions, has announced further expansion of its SATCOM beamformer IC family. The new Generation-2 Ku-Band ICs have been developed for phased array-based ground terminals. The ICs enable active antenna based phased array SATCOM ground terminals that can auto-align and auto-position to support SATCOM-on-the-move using LEO/MEO/GEO satellites.

The Ku-Band IC family builds on Anokiwave's 1st generation of beamformer ICs and adds to the K/Ka band SATCOM ICs that were previously released, by improving performance, reducing cost, and providing a host of digital functionality that simplifies the active antenna array design. The new ICs support four dual polarization radiating elements with full polarization flexibility. Using a small WLCSP (Wafer Level Chip Scale Package) makes the overall phased array assembly and thermal management much easier.

The new Ku-Band beamformer ICs in addition to the previously released K/Ka band Gen 2 ICs now offer options for both the key SATCOM bands for ground equipment, while ensuring unmatched performance and low cost. The AWMF-0146 and AWMF-0147 will be made available to customers in Q3-2019.
