Pivotal Commware, a recognized pioneer of 5G mmWave technologies, systems, and applications using Holographic Beam Forming (HBF) announced that it has joined the Open RAN Policy Coalition, a group formed to promote policies to advance the adoption of open and interoperable Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions, and to create innovation, spur competition and expand the supply chain for advanced wireless network technologies including 5G.
As part of the Open RAN Policy Coalition, Pivotal will continue its ongoing effort to evangelize RAN innovation, interoperability and security, and will actively participate with other Coalition members on the group’s policy initiatives.
Joining the Open RAN Policy Coalition builds on Pivotal’s established technical leadership and contributions to other telecommunications industry groups, including the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), the global telecommunication standards body, and the O-RAN Alliance, a worldwide group of mobile operators, vendors, and research institutions whose mission is to lead the industry towards intelligence, open, virtualized, and fully interoperable networks.
Interoperability has been part of Pivotal’s DNA since the day this company was born, and they are enthusiastic about joining forces with a group of like-minded companies to advocate for policies that support the development of open and interoperable solutions in the Radio Access Network. For years, they have contributed to building an enduring infrastructural base for telecommunications, and notably they have led development of global beam forming standards and specifications. Pivotal looks forward to now ramping up the policy efforts as an engaged and active member of the Open RAN Policy Coalition.
Pivotal is best known for its invention of innovative Holographic Beam Forming technology, which boosts the performance of 5G networks, slashes deployment and maintenance costs, and accelerates time to market for network operators.
