Luso Electronics, a UK based supplier of satcom products, engineering components for machinery and power electronic products announced a new family of modular C-band to KA-band antennas with reflector sizes from 1.2 m to 4.2 m. The modular designs reduce installation time, cut costs and adds flexibility to microwave satellite networks, they also make KA band installations financially viable for cost-sensitive commercial applications.
A KA band dish measures 1.8 meters and offers comparable performance to a 4.2 meter KU band antenna. The much smaller KU band antennas and waveguides simplify transportation, handling and installation, along with other changes that may be needed during the life of the installation. Luso can deliver the antennas from stock in one day and also install and commission the antenna in one-third of normal installation time for comparable antennas.
The antennas are supplied in four variants: fixed, manually adjustable, motorized and full tracking. A range of ancillary components is also available. The company’s one-stop service includes system preplanning and design, site preparation, installation, testing and maintenance. Customers can opt for a fixed installation in the first instance then upgrade to have more service options at a later time.
The new antennas will be shown for the first time at IBC 2014, Hall 5, Stand C-19, 12th – 16th September at the RAI Amsterdam.
