KYOCERA AVX Launches Lead Free SMD Band Pass Filters for UWB Applications

KYOCERA AVX, a leading international supplier of electronic passive components and interconnect solutions has introduced ITF (Integrated Thin Film) lead-free SMD bandpass filters. These filters have a passband from 800 MHz to 10 GHz and are based on thin-film multilayer technology. This technology provides a miniature part with excellent high-frequency performance and rugged construction for reliable automatic assembly. These filters are ideal for UWB applications.

UWB is a radio technology that uses a very low energy level for short-range, high bandwidth communications over a large portion of the radio spectrum. UWB is widely used in several applications such as target sensor data collection, precise locating, tracking, and V2X.

These ITF filters are offered in a variety of frequency bands compatible with various types of high-frequency wireless systems.

Key features of these filters:

  • Passband from 800 MHz – 10 GHz.
  • The power handling (CW) capacity of up to 8 W.
  • Low insertion loss.
  • Low transmit power.
  • Spectrum reuse.
  • High out of band rejection.
  • Sleep roll-off.
  • High repeatability.
  • Temperature stability.
  • High order filters.
  • Interface immunity.

Key applications of these filters:

  • Military.
  • Base stations.
  • Test equipment.
  • Handheld radios.
  • Consumer.
  • Active antenna systems.
  • Automotive.
  • Emergency Services.
  • Mobile Communications.
  • Satellite TV receivers.
