mmWave Test Solutions has introduced a new modular mmWave antenna test range chamber that is available in 3, 5 and 10 m sizes. The AC1224 Generation 2 (GEN2) mmWave antenna test chambers are available in a modular format and use the best-in-class pyramidal absorbers with 115 nm or 300 nm thickness options. These absorbers have excellent reflection properties across the 5G mmWave and automotive radar bands.

The AC1224 GEN2 protects the customers’ investments. Its chamber size can be reconfigured as a customers' needs evolve and can be made bigger or split into smaller chambers. Unlike a permanently installed test range or Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR), customers would never need to spend money on a professional team of moving people to disassemble and relocate it.
Assembly and disassembly of the AC1224 GEN2 require only two people. The test chamber can be disassembled and moved to another office location if needed, or even taken to a customer to enable collaborative R&D efforts.
Lightweight and robust
The AC1224’s GEN2 frame has been upgraded to an all-aluminum structure. This structure together with rigid panels provides a stable, interlocking chamber design no matter the size of the assembled test chamber.
All panels, beams, and brackets are CNC machined and clearly marked to allow a straightforward assembly process. All needed tools are in the shipment together with clear step-by-step instructions.
Unpacking and assembling an H 2.4 m x W 2.4 m x L 3.6 m (8 ft x 8 ft x 12 ft) test chamber can be completed in less than a day.
A flexible, modular construction
The AC1224 modular antenna test chamber is configurable anywhere from H 2.4 m x W 2.4 m x L 3.6 m (8 ft x 8 ft x 12 ft) and upwards. An even wider 3.6 m (12 ft) version is also available, and the AC1224 can be scaled to even larger sizes if needed.
The concept provides maximum flexibility so that more modules can be added and the chamber can be expanded as requirements change. A full-length AC1224 antenna test range can also be reconfigured into two smaller chambers by adding an end module and a door module.
A whole wall panel with 300 mm absorbers weighs 38 kg, and a 115 mm absorber panel weighs only 24 kg. Because of the lightweight construction, as few as two people can assemble the chamber.
