Empower RF has developed a new high-performance X-band pulsed power amplifier module for Radar applications where portability and extended range are key requirements. The 1222 is Empower RF's new pulsed power amplifier module that provides over 250 W of peak power from 9 to 10 GHz with pulse widths up to 500 µsec and 20% duty cycles. The amplifier has an Enable/Disable time of less than 250 ns and its gain can be controlled with digital or analog interfaces. It utilizes 48V GaN on SiC devices and is lightweight, highly reliable and rugged.
The amplifier has built-in protections with alarms for over-temperature operation, over-voltage, reverse polarity, over-current, temperature reporting and current reporting.
Key Features of the Pulsed Power Amplifier
- Solid-state Class AB design
- Instantaneous ultra-broadband
- Suitable for Pulsed modulation up to 500 us pulse widths and up to 20% duty cycle
- Small, lightweight, high reliability and ruggedness
- 50 ohm input/output impedance
- Built-in control, monitoring and protection circuits
- RS485 serial interface for monitoring and control
