Arralis Launches New K-band and Ka-band Bare Die Analog Phase Shifters

Arralis has launched its advanced K-band and Ka-band analog bare die phase shifters that are ready to order. Operating at 17-21 and 25-33 GHz, the phase shifters enable up to 350º and >360º smooth phase variation across the band respectively. These bare die phase shifters are currently in stock and are available to order.

The Ka-PS-2533 phase-shifter enables a 360-degree phase variation in the 25.5 to 32.5 GHz frequency band. It also provides very low insertion loss (±2 dB) as well as excellent phase tracking over all frequencies (less than ±25 degrees). It offers an alternative to digital phase-shifters where any required phase delay is achievable with the phase set by varying the control voltage (VD) in the range of -0.5 to 0.7 V.

The K-PS-1721 phase shifter enables more than 350-degree phase variation across the 17 to 21 GHz frequency band. With excellent matching and very low insertion loss variation over all phases and frequencies (±1.9 dB), and excellent phase tracking over the complete frequency range (less than ±15 degrees), it also offers an alternative to digital phase shifters where any required phase delay is achievable with the phase set by varying the control voltage (VD) in the range of -0.5 to 0.7 V.

Both the MMICs are compatible with precision die attach methods, as well as thermo-compression and thermosonic wire bonding since the underside of the die is gold plated making it ideal for MCM and hybrid microcircuit applications.

These analog phase shifters are an alternative to digital phase shifters where any required phase delay is achievable with the phase set by varying the control voltage in the range of -0.5 to 0.7 V. This smooth phase variation is vitally important for the development of beam steering antenna systems. The phase shifters can be used for frequency translation, beam steering antennas, phased arrays, 5G networks, satellite downlink, IoT and security applications.

“Electronically steerable antennas are becoming an ever-increasing necessity for the next generation of LEO satellite constellations. These antennas have the ability to simultaneously steer multiple beams and allow beams to be rapidly re-positioned at speeds that are not possible with a mechanically steered antenna. To help antenna designers to achieve this, Arralis have launched our new K & Ka-band Phase Shifters”, said Engineer Dr. Geoffrey Barigye, Arralis.
