Qorvo Introduces 1700 Watt RF GaN Power Amplifier Pallet for Tactical Air Navigation Applications

Qorvo, a leading global provider of connectivity and power solutions, has introduced the QPD1034, a 1700 Watt high power RF Gallium Nitride (GaN) pallet that supports Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) applications for air traffic control. The QPD1034 is a compact GaN on SiC pallet amplifier solution that operates from 960 to 1215 MHz. It provides 1700 W of output power has a gain of 16 dB and a drain efficiency of 62%. The amplifier is fully matched to 50 ohms.

The QPD1034 addresses a growing need for modular, scalable, reliable and fully tested high power RF products manufactured in the US to support avionics applications, including air traffic control radar and identifying friend or foe (IFF).
