WIN Semiconductors has announced that it has surpassed 1 million cumulative wafer shipments to customers in the mobile PA, WiFi, wireless infrastructure and optical markets. WIN Semiconductors provides a broad portfolio of Hetero-junction Bipolar Transistor, Pseudomorphic High Electron Mobility Transistor and integrated BiHEMT technology solutions enabling users to address virtually any application from 50 MHz to 100 GHz. WIN Semiconductors after achieving this milestone validates and confirms its position as the dominant wafer supplier with over 60% market share and the pure-play foundry model in the compound semiconductor industry.
Additionally, in response to increasing demand across all segments, WIN Semiconductors also announced that it has completed refurbishment of a third wafer fab location in Guishan, Toayuan City, Taiwan. This facility was purchased in 2013 and has been expanded from four to seven floors, along with site upgrades with additional infrastructure to support mass production of a range of compound semiconductor technologies. Installation of clean room facilities and equipment on the 6th and 7th floors has started and is expected to be complete by the end of 2015. The remaining space will be outfitted with clean rooms based on market requirements. When completed, Fab C will more than double WIN’s market leading manufacturing capacity.
