Mini-Circuits, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of RF and microwave components and integrated assemblies, has expanded its lineup of I/Q mixers with new models for microwave and mmWave applications. These new models include the SMIQ-6243H+, the SMIQ-653H-D+, and the ZMIQ-653H-E+.
The SMIQ-6243H+ is a passive, wideband in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) mixer fabricated using GaAs HBT technology. It can be used as a single-sideband upconverter for transmit applications or an image rejection mixer for receiver applications. This mixer covers a wide frequency range, with an RF and LO frequency range of 6 to 24 GHz and an IF frequency range of DC to 6 GHz. The SMIQ-6243H+ offers superior dynamic range for high-performance applications, thanks to its lower noise figure compared to active mixers. It comes in a compact 4x4 mm QFN-style package and does not require DC bias for operation.
The SMIQ-653H-D+ is also a passive, wideband in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) mixer fabricated using GaAs HBT technology. It is suitable for single-sideband upconverter or image rejection mixer applications, covering an RF and LO frequency range of 18 to 65 GHz and an IF frequency range of DC to 20 GHz. The SMIQ-653H-D+ offers excellent RF performance and is ideal for high-performance applications that require a wide frequency range.
The ZMIQ-653H-E+ is a coaxial frequency mixer suitable for I and Q modulator/demodulator, image reject mixer, and single-sideband mixer applications. It features an RF and LO frequency range from 18 to 65 GHz and an IF frequency range from DC to 20 GHz. The ZMIQ-653H-E+ is housed in a rugged, 1.85 mm or 2.92 mm connectorized housing suitable for assembled systems and lab use. It contains Mini-Circuits’ SMIQ-653H-DG+ and is suitable for performance evaluation of the I/Q mixer die.
These new I/Q mixers from Mini-Circuits offer wide IF bandwidths, high dynamic range, and excellent port-to-port isolation. They are usable in both image rejection and single-sideband (SSB) applications and are ideal for wideband frequency translation applications that require inherent rejection of image signals and spurious mixing products. With these new models, Mini-Circuits continues to expand its lineup of high-performance RF and microwave components and integrated assemblies.
