Antenom, a development and production house for antennas, RF components and RF systems is exhibiting their semi-fixed aperture changeable block-based horn antennas for the first time at IMS 2023 at booth 1954 in San Diego, California. Anten’it is the Brick-based Antenna and Microwave Design Hardware family that represents a technological breakthrough in antennas and microwave fields. Anten'it offers a new approach to antenna & microwave component design. The brick based design methodology lets users have reusable building blocks and iterate directly on the hardware.
Antenom has extended the block-based antenna design and training kits into fixed and semi-fixed (aperture-changeable) products. The antenna training and design kits have been on the market since 2019, and the microwave kits were launched in 2022.
Users can use aperture-changeable horn antennas to change their antenna gain immediately. Both the antenna and the aperture parts are fixed in these antennas. The 7.5 GHz working frequency is extended to 12.2 GHz for semi-fixed horn antennas at the moment. Antenom works on extending the frequency range of its block-based products. Anten’it antenna training and design kits have been on the market since 2019, and the microwave kits were launched in 2022.
The reusable blocks allow users to design, build, measure, and iterate easily. They are useful in some application areas; one of them is antenna and microwave training, and the second one is reusable prototyping. The new fixed antennas can be used over the platforms and have lightweight and low-cost advantages. Semi-fixed antennas have fixed parts and changeable parts. This enables them to be used as reconfigurable antennas. The new software Anten’it Library covers the 3D CAD models, CST Studio, and IMST Empire models of the antennas and microwave components. The users can download the files and use them on their computers.
Unlike any other training kit, block-based design kits allow students to design their antennas and microwave components during the time-limited laboratory lectures. The kits are also useful for research purposes. Antenom senior staff will be available to discuss how we can make you successful in antenna & microwave design and training.
Research and development need to test the ideas rapidly and check if they are appropriate for the application. The reusable blocks of this concept eliminate the loss of time and cost to check the ideas. It is practical to use the blocks to build microwave components or antennas. The datasheet booklet and antenna/microwave component building instructions within the kit allow the designers and researchers to use the products easily. Similar to a standard component selection, researchers can select the appropriate component for their application, follow the building instructions and build the component. There is no need to be a microwave engineer or antenna engineer to follow the steps. This is also useful for junior engineers to understand the characteristics of the components without any fabrication cost.
