Akoustis Technologies, a leading manufacturer of patented bulk acoustic wave (BAW) high-band RF filters, has announced its first design win for a wireless Battery Management System (wBMS) chipset in Electric Vehicles (EVs) from a Tier-1 automotive product supplier. This design win integrates Akoustis’ 2.4 GHz BAW filter, a high-performance solution tailored for the Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) radio bands. The filter facilitates communication from the control unit to each battery module in the battery bank, addressing low power requirements and short-range capabilities typical of ISM band solutions.
