Silicon Lab, a leader in high-performance analog-intensive, mixed-signal ICs, has launched the SiWx915 SoC. This new system-on-chip (SoC) is the second in the company’s Wi-Fi 6 product line, designed for energy-efficient and line-powered IoT wireless devices. The SiWx915 SoC integrates Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth Low Energy (LE), Matter, and IP networking technologies, making it ideal for cloud-connected IoT applications.
The SiWx915 SoC features a comprehensive wireless CPU subsystem, including a network wireless processor running up to 160 MHz, advanced baseband digital signal processing, a 2.4 GHz RF transceiver, and an integrated power amplifier. In addition to these features, it boasts an ARM® Cortex®-M4F processor running up to 180 MHz, dedicated to application and peripheral processing. With integrated security, memory, and peripherals in a compact 7x7 mm QFN package, this SoC offers a robust, high-performance solution suitable for smart homes, healthcare, industrial, and retail applications.
Target applications for the SiWx915 include smart homes, wearable devices, clinical medical technology, smart cities, and asset tracking, highlighting its versatility and efficiency across various industries.
