PCTEL has announced the global release of its new VenU™ PIM160 antenna portfolio. The antenna products in this portfolio deliver an industry-leading low passive intermodulation (PIM) performance of -160 dBc which minimizes PIM interference and enhances network capacity in multi-carrier networks.
Low PIM is crucial for meeting capacity requirements in high density venues such as stadiums, high-rise buildings and subway stations. The Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Networks that serve these venues contain many components such as cables, connectors, splitters and antennas that can generate PIM interference. In addition, the increased use of Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) devices to address capacity challenges have multiplied PIM vulnerabilities, making low PIM components essential in achieving high and reliable throughput values.
The VenU™ PIM160 antenna portfolio helps mitigate capacity-limiting PIM interference. Available antenna models include two Single Input, Single Output (SISO) 4G LTE models, and two MIMO 4G LTE models for ceiling mount or flush wall installations. All models are available with carrier-preferred connector options for maximum installation flexibility and carrier compatibility.
