DragonWave has announced that mobile operator Blue Wireless has ordered 100 Horizon Compact+ and Horizon Quantum packet microwave radio links to be deployed as part of their ongoing network expansion.
Blue Wireless has already deployed DragonWave's Bandwidth Accelerator payload compression technology across their network, gaining up to 40% greater capacity per channel, allowing for multi-gigabit capacity for core and access links.
Blue Wireless did a thorough evaluation of microwave radios before they decided to use the Horizon Compact+ and Horizon Quantum. Their evaluation was based on finding a fiber-equivalent solution with the scalability to meet their growing capacity demands. DragonWave's Horizon Compact+ and Horizon Quantum demonstrated the performance and reliability required to maintain the high quality of service for their growing customer base.
Blue Wireless is a regional cellular carrier based out of Buffalo, NY providing CDMA/LTE service. They offer nationwide coverage and are committed to the ongoing examination and improvement of their network as capacity demands increase. By leveraging DragonWave's ring architecture capability they are building out a cost-effective and highly resilient, carrier-grade backhaul network with the scalability and fiber-equivalent performance needed to meet their current and future expansion requirements.
Horizon Compact+ and Quantum are uniquely positioned in the market as powerful, easily installed systems that offer mobile operators a cost-effective solution that can scale to their growth.
