Ampleon has announced the openning of an RF Energy Competence Center in Hefei, China. While RF energy covers a broad range of applications (Domestic and Professional Cooking, Heating and Drying, Ignition and Lighting), the new competence center’s current focus is on solid state cooking. Ampleon is one of the co-founders of the RF Energy Alliance and are on a mission to standardize, promote and educate target audiences in solid state RF energy systems as heating and power generators.
Key to the success of solid state cooking in both consumer and professional applications is providing white goods manufacturers with local integration and application support. Most manufacturers of cooking equipment have no or very little RF experience. Ampleon works closely with leading companies in this space to help them adopt this new technology. Many of these companies have their design and production sites in China. This was why Ampleon chose to set up their center in the Hefei region. The region is already recognised as a major centre for scientific research in China.
Industry reports show that RF Energy markets, including solid-state cooking and plasma lighting, could exceed the traditional RF Power markets by 2020. Ampleon has been supporting the RF Energy markets through a combination of RF power transistors with leading performance/cost ratios, providing full application support through a deep system understanding and engineering support as well as the ability to ramp products quickly and reliable in volume production. The new RF Energy Competence Center will further benefit their customers and help them integrate this new technology in to their products.
The RF Energy Competence Centre in Hefei will be headed by Vincent Frequin, Director of Ampleon RF Energy Competence Center.
