NuWaves Engineering has introduced a 100 Watt L & S-band Power Amplifier to its family of NuPower small, lightweight and high-efficiency power amplifiers.
The NuPower 12K08A provides saturated RF power of 100 Watts in the L & S-band (frequency coverage from 1.7 GHz to 2.5 GHz), with efficiencies of up to 58%. With a nominal input drive level of 0 dBm, it offers an impressive 50 dB of RF gain. The PA’s have an aluminum chassis with improved heat dissipation characteristics for higher temperature operation and, available in a compact size measuring 7.25” x 4” x 0.8”. They are small enough for integration into a wide variety of air or ground based tactical, test, or training platforms. With an impressive size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) profile, the NuPower 12K08A can be used with communications and telemetry systems to provide range extension or with electronic warfare systems for airborne electronic attack (AEA) at low and medium altitudes, including unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
For the systems integrator that requires greater communications range, the NuPower 12K08A will provide a significant improvement with its 100 Watts of output power. NuWaves Engineering offers first-rate communications solutions to the Warfighter. Their high-power amplifiers enable greater standoff distances for UAS and unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) applications, giving armed forces the advantage in hostile environments. The NuPower 12K08A will be available in late Q1 2017.
