Products Based on WiTricity Wireless Charging Reference Design to be Showcased at CES 2017

Efficient Power Conversion Corporation (EPC) have accelerated their efforts to build magnetic resonance based wireless charging systems based on WiTricity’s reference designs that feature gallium nitride (GaN)-based solutions with ASD Technology Limited (ASD). This ramp-up in activity is in response to recently rising customer and end-system manufacturer interests in wireless charging products using gallium nitride technology.

WiTricity is one of the main players that uses of magnetic resonance technology for wireless power. The WiTricity reference design utilizes EPC’s high speed, thermally efficient, and small-sized eGaN devices to meet the requirements of the AirFuel Alliance wireless power standard. As a licensee of WiTricity technology, ASD, a design and manufacturing company in Hong Kong, designs and produces innovative products incorporating WiTricity’s technology. This three-way relationship provides a fast, direct route to introducing innovative, high performance wireless charging products and systems.

Wireless charging systems resulting from the WiTricity, ASD, and EPC collaboration will be on display at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017, January 5th to 8th, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
