u-blox has introduced a new Automotive Dead Reckoning (ADR) firmware for navigation, telematics, e-Call and V2X applications. Enabled for both, OEM and after-market applications, the ADR4.10 offers real-time, low latency positioning at up to 30 Hz using a combination of multi-GNSS, inertial sensor and vehicle speed data. The firmware comes with simplified installation and provides improved accuracy in the most urban environments.
The firmware has been made available to OEMs using the u-blox M8030-Kx-DR professional and automotive grade 3D ADR GNSS chips. The M8030‑Kx‑DR blends satellite navigation data with individual wheel speed, gyroscope and accelerometer information to deliver accurate positioning regardless of changes in a vehicle’s speed, heading or vertical displacement, even when satellite signals are partially or completely blocked.
By the end of May 2017, this firmware will also be available in NEO-M8L ADR modules, including the new automotive grade NEO-M8L-02A. The NEO-M8L has been developed using u-blox’s latest generation GNSS technology with multi-constellation reception including Galileo, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS. The module provides high sensitivity and fast GNSS signal acquisition and tracking.
