Vaunix Introduces 4-Channel USB Controlled Digital Attenuator from 200 MHz to 6 GHz

Vaunix has added a new 4-channel digital attenuator to their family of USB-powered, programmable attenuators for RF automated test equipment, affordable RF test, and research/education applications. The LDA-602Q is a 4-channel attenuator that provides up to 120 dB of control range with a 0.1 dB step size from 200 MHz to 6 GHz. It is capable of bidirectional fixed attenuation, swept attenuation ramps, and fading profiles. Each RF port has a 50 ohm impedance with a typical VSWR of 1.3:1. Fast switching speeds of 15 microsecond typical can be expected. The maximum input level is beyond 28 dBm with an input IP3 of over 55 dBm.

Digital attenuators from Vaunix offer cost-effective solutions for high density attenuation, fading simulation, mobile wireless/wireless telecommunications, MIMO, DVB, WiMAX, and other applications which benefit from low-cost yet quality performance multi-channel digital attenuators.

The LDA-602Q is available in a compact unit that can be fitted into a single standard rack unit with well-spaced 50 Ohm SMA female connectors for each RF port. Additionally, the only power and control connection is from a standard USB type-B female. Two counter-bore holes are provided for efficient mounting and placement. The 4-channel digital attenuator is designed to operate reliably from -10°C to 50°C.

The Lab Brick LDA series of digital attenuators comes complete with a fully programmable GUI application that can operate multiple attenuator devices directly from a PC or self-powered USB hub. Moreover, Vaunix supplies LabVIEW drivers, Windows API DLL files, and a Linux driver, complete with instruction manuals, for applications that require deeper customization.
