Marki Microwave has now received ISO 9001:2015 certification. The company renewed its older ISO 9001 standard certification from ISO 9001:2008 to the newly announced and revised standard ISO 9001:2015, published in 2015. Marki Microwave's decision to become ISO 9001:2015 demonstrates the company’s growing commitment to providing quality products and services.
Introduced in 1987, ISO 9001 certification is based on the plan-do-check-act methodology and provides a process-oriented approach to documenting and reviewing the structure, responsibilities, and procedures required to achieve effective quality management in an organization. Specific sections of the standard contain information on topics such as; requirements for a quality management system, responsibilities of management, management of resources, product realization and measurement, analysis, and improvement of the QMS through activities like internal audits and corrective and preventive action.
The changes introduced in the 2015 revision are intended to ensure that ISO 9001 continues to adapt to the changing environments in which organizations operate. Some of the key updates in ISO 9001:2015 include the introduction of new terminology, restructuring some of the information, an emphasis on risk-based thinking to enhance the application of the process approach, improved applicability for services, and increased leadership requirements.
To become ISO 9001:2015 certified, Marki Microwave underwent an evaluation process that included quality management system development, a management system documentation review, pre-audit, initial assessment, and clearance of non-conformance, all of which work to identify corrective action that eliminate non-conformance to the quality management standard. The company upgraded its processes to be more robust and have quadrupled personnel in Quality Assurance Department to support this at every step.
