New AI Based Radar Module Helps Track the Location of Wi-Fi Devices on a Network

Edgewater Wireless Systems has introduced its Artificial Intelligence Radar (A.I.R.) module leveraging Galgus Cognitive Hotspot TechnologyA.I.R. uses a real-time artificial intelligence engine to learn from and adapt to any network environment or coverage zone with no setup required by the network operator. It relies on patent-pending advanced algorithms to detect, range and track any WiFi-enabled device without the expense of additional monitoring hardware and no additional demands on network throughput or performance. A.I.R.s intelligence engine automatically learns and adapts to the physical location or floor plan of any WiFi environment – with or without line of sight, and is accurate to within 6ft.

Combined with the advanced features of Edgewater Wireless multi-channel WiFi3 including real-time, integrated Spectral Surveillance Architecture, Edgewater Wireless aera access point products with A.I.R. will give network operators accurate locationing of devices and their users physically moving through the network. A.I.R. has multiple applications including; network optimization, surveillance and security, asset tracking, customer locationing and more. As an added benefit, it doesn’t require any device connection or apps to locate smart phones, laptops, tablets and other WiFi-capable devices within the network coverage zone.

A.I.R. brings real-time intelligence to locate any WiFi-enabled device passing through the coverage zone. Network operators can take advantage of it to better understand and analyze location traffic patterns, enhance user experiences and optimize networks for sticky clients, enhance physical security, physical asset tracking and much more.

Edgewater’s WiFi3 powered technology is a promising Wi-Fi solution for carriers, service providers and systems integrators to address the growing problems of interference, capacity and critical mass of users which is stretching WiFi and IoT networks to their breaking point. The patented technology solves the high-density problem while also significantly reducing the equipment investment and operating costs for new network deployments.

The Galgus’ Cognitive Hotspot Technology (CHT) is an embedded generic software that makes WiFi networks intelligent and optimizes spectral efficiencies for WiFi routers and Access points (APs). It increases WiFi performance by up to 400%, while reducing interference levels and power consumption, especially in high-user density environments.
