Serial to WiFi Embedded Module with Low Power Consumption

Artila Electronics, a developer and manufacturer of Linux-ready ARM embedded industrial computers, has introduced a FreeRTOS based serial to wireless LAN module. The new SW-200M, supports 2.4 GHz, IEEE 802.11b/g/n WiFi and a UART interface which has been designed to connect serial devices to the Intranet/Internet. This compact PCB module provides a serial to embedded wireless solution with ultralow power consumption. It measures only 40x45 mm.

The Serial-to-Wi-Fi module supports serial, UART, SPI, I2C, PWM and GPIOs interfaces. It integrates a 32-bit ARM Cortex M3 processor with 2MB Flash memory, 2.5MB Data memory, SSL hardware accelerator, 802.11b/b/g compatible WLAN MAC/Baseband/RF into a compact module. Featuring a secured and self-supporting WiFi system, it can be easily controlled using a WPS (WiFi Protected Setup), web browser, smartphone APP and window manager utility.

The module has a TCP/IP protocol suite running on-chip and therefore it can serve as a network coprocessor to offload TCP/IP and WLAN protocol processing loading from the system MCU in an embedded system. It is perfect for TCP/IP socket level applications such as TCP server & client control for remote appliance sensors, or wireless cable, web server and other remote I/O applications. It has received certifications from the regulatory agency in U.S., Canada, Europe, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Australia/New Zealand.
