Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions has launched the ACLM5022C110, a new 8 to 12 GHz X-band coaxial limiter featuring exceptional performance in a compact package. The limiter provides an ideal solution for receiver protection in radar, electronic warfare (EW), electronic countermeasures (ECM), communications, and test systems.
As higher power requirements emerge for receiver protection, delivering performance in an attractive form factor across a wide temperature range emerges as a challenge. To solve this problem, the ACLM5022C110 features power handling rated at 25W CW over the full temperature range from -55°C up to 85°C, demonstrating significantly higher power handling for this type of package.
The limiter features maximum flat leakage of +15 dBm and recovery time of 200 nsec maximum. Peak power handling is 150 W maximum at 1usec pulse width and 1% duty cycle. When operating in a small signal environment, insertion loss is less than 1.5 dB and VSWR is less than 1.5:1. In order to facilitate system integration, I/O DC blocks are incorporated in the limiter. The compact design features field replaceable SMA connectors which can be removed for drop-in microstrip or stripline applications.
