Taiwanese Test Laboratory Partners with Anritsu for 5G-NR Conformance Tests

Anritsu has signed an agreement with Sporton International, a Taiwan test laboratory for 5G-NR GCF and PTCRB conformance testing using Anritsu’s new Radio RF Conformance Test System (ME7873NR). Sporton is a Taiwan test laboratory approved by mobile terminal certification organizations, such as GCF and PTCRB, and is the only winner of the PTCRB excellence award for 4 consecutive years.

Sporton uses Anritsu 3G (W-CDMA) and 4G (LTE) test solutions for certification testing required for continuing development and advances in the mobile communications market. As well as adopting the new ME7873NR 5G-NR test system, the company is co-operating with Anritsu in obtaining GCF and PTCRB conformance test certifications, helping accelerate Anritsu’s activities in 5G-NR RF testing.

The ME7873NR is an RF test platform for 5G-NR currently under development and supports RF conformance and carrier acceptance inspection tests. It is registered with GCF and PTCRB as 5G-NR test platform TP250 and is designed for certification of mobile terminals using 3GPP-compliant 5G RF tests, and will also be used for PTCRB certifications. Sporton and Anritsu are promoting future global cooperation with test certification bodies to facilitate growth of the 5G-NR conformance test market and early commercial rollout of 5G-NR communications services by bringing a stable and high-quality conformance test system to market.

The ME7873NR is an automated test system for 3GPP TS38.521-compliant 5G-NR measurements. With design support for both 5G-NR standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes; combined use with the 5G over-the-air (OTA) chamber (CATR) to cover the 5G frequency bands, including the sub-6 GHz and mmWave bands. The flexible system configuration can be tailored to measurement conditions and an upgrade for 5G is available from the ME7873LA supporting RF and carrier acceptance inspection tests for LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), LTE-A Pro, and earlier W-CDMA mobile terminals, helping customers configure a cost-effective RF test system matching all their requirements.
