RF over fiber links and systems developer, ViaLite, has introduced a new C-Band RF over fiber link. With a C-Band uplink/downlink frequency range from 3.4 to 7.1 GHz, the link is suitable for use in a wide range of satcom and broadcast applications, as well as some surveillance and weather radar systems. The link's full frequency range is 500 MHz - 7.5 GHz.
By removing the requirement for an up/down converter to convert signals to an IF band, the module reduces deployment costs and complexity. Another benefit is that there is virtually no signal attenuation across the site from the dish to the operations center. The ViaLite HD C-Band Link is available either as a rack chassis card or as a new purple OEM module, and comes with a five year warranty as standard. The C-Band Link has the highest frequency band of all of ViaLite’s RF over fiber links.
The new C-Band Link products are being showcased at CABSAT in Dubai from March 12-14, where the company has a stand on the Satellite exhibition floor (stand: B5-22). ViaLite will be sharing the stand with their distributor for the region, Symbolise, whose managing director Jeroen Husken will also be in attendance.
ViaLite will also be featuring the C-Band RF over fiber products, at the NAB Broadcast Technology show in Las Vegas from 8-11 April 2019 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Operating in the 7 GHz C-Band, the Purple OEM broadcast package can take native signals from wireless cameras and mics back to the outdoor broadcast (OB) truck without using a down convertor. ViaLite will also be exhibiting many of its other leading-edge ViaLiteHD products for the broadcast industry.
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) event is expected to attract over 100,000 attendees from 160 countries and over 1700 exhibitors. The exhibition takes place from 8-11 April 2019 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. A free exhibits pass is available courtesy of ViaLite using guest pass code: LV9822. Code expires March 24.
