Sivers IMA has partnered with the Swedish EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) partner, NOTE, for volume delivery of 5G products. NOTE is a leading northern European manufacturing partner with an international platform for manufacturing electronics-based products that require high technology competence and flexibility through product lifecycles.
According to Anders Storm, the CEO of Sivers IMA, the company is through with the design phase and hopes to see the first series of orders in the second half of this year. To begin with, they expect to see orders for unlicensed 5G solutions and for licensed 5G products when it has products ready for volume production.
Series production with regards to unlicensed 5G is expected to begin in the second half of 2019 and for licensed 5G products production is expected to start in 2020. When volumes ramp up, the partnership is expected to expand beyond Sweden. Sivers has partnered with NOTE before and chose the company also for its 5G products as they were able to meet the high quality demands in the design process. Furthermore, Sivers will be able to grow their production capacity together with NOTE outside of Sweden as volumes ramp up.
This is a perfect example of a NOTE partnership where they get involved early in the customer’s design process and thereafter, as volumes ramp up, continue to support the customer, both from Sweden and from even more cost-efficient sites such as China. The company follows customers through the complete product lifecycle, from design to after-sales.
NOTE is one of northern Europe’s leading EMS partners, producing PCBAs, subassemblies and box-build products. The company’s offering covers the complete product lifecycle, from design to after-sales. It has a presence in Sweden, Finland, the UK, Estonia and China.
