ETL & Atlantic Microwave Showcase RF Solutions for the Military Market at 3CDSE

ETL Systems, along with its subsidiary, Atlantic Microwave, is working on developing satellite equipment and RF components for the military market. The companies demonstrated satellite communication products and test equipment for the first time together at the Three Counties Defence and Security Expo (3CDSE 2019) on 17th July.

Working together to provide complementary RF solutions, ETL Systems range of RF equipment is mainly used for operational satellite communications for a number of verticals, including the defense market. Whereas the RF components provided by Atlantic, are predominantly deployed in test environments for a variety of satellite applications, such as radar.

ETL demonstrated solutions for handling and routing RF signals, enabling military customers to manage multiple services and ensure feeds are securely distributed to the correct place. Products on the stand included the StingRay RF over Fibre 100 Series chassis, which has the capacity to house up to 16 x 100 fiber modules and can handle fiber signals up to 10 km. They also demonstrated the compact 4U Hurricane L-band Matrix, which provides routing for up to 64 L-band feeds.

Making its 3CDSE debut, Atlantic Microwave demonstrated a wide range of high-performance RF components suitable for military applications. This included a miniature synthesizer, which enables customers to test satellite performance without having to send live signals over the network. Atlantic’s range of test cables and coaxial cable assemblies were also on display. These robust cables ensure consistency for testing so that they give the same result each time, making it possible to test different equipment and configurations accurately.
