Custom MMIC hosted US Congresswoman Lori Trahan, and a number of other press and industry influencers, as part of a ceremonial celebration to officially open their new twenty thousand square foot office/manufacturing space and to acknowledge the Women in Engineering Scholarship Program that Custom MMIC debuted in 2018 and just recently announced the 2019 scholarship winners.
Paul Blount, President, and CEO of Custom MMIC kicked off the event with opening remarks explaining what Custom MMIC does and how they are a critical part of delivering advanced and reliable defense systems to keep our warfighters safe. He then transitioned into extolling the benefits of the Women in Engineering Scholarship and the dividends that investment is paying now and for the future. US Congresswoman Trahan, who is a sitting representative on the House Armed Services Committee, acknowledged and praised Custom MMICs contribution to the defense effort and applauded their commitment to giving back to the local community especially by encouraging women to pursue careers in STEM-related fields.
A brief but informative factory tour followed where Paul described the functions of the specialized testing and probing equipment used in the manufacturing process of MMIC devices. Upon conclusion of the tour Congresswoman Trahan took part in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting which signified the official opening of Custom MMICs new expansion with plans for further expansion in the future.
