According to Huawei, 2013 was the most significant year for LTE development worldwide to date. More than 110 commercial LTE networks were launched, with multiple new data optimization technologies reaching maturity and seeing deployment. At the forefront of these developments, advances in antenna technologies for flexibly handling additional spectrum bands and enabling remote electrical tilt (RET), configuration and maintenance, took a substantial step forward.
2013 represented a milestone year for Huawei’s antenna business, with more than 1.65 million Huawei antennas now deployed in over 155 countries for 360 operators on six continents. This high growth is attributed to breakthrough deployments in China, Russia and European countries, including the UK and France. In China, Huawei’s multi-band ultra broadband antenna solution is being used to help build the country’s new LTE network. Huawei antennas are currently operating in some of the world’s most extreme environmental conditions, from sub-zero polar regions and areas affected by persistent salt fog near oceans, to windy deserts and tropical rainforests.
