The ADAR3001 from Analog Devices is a Beamforming IC that operates in the Ka-Band from 27.5 to 31 GHz. This 4-beam/16-channel IC is configurable for transmit or receive operation with a programmable time delay and step attenuator for beam steering. It has low power dissipation and consumes less than 12 mW of power per channel. The IC has internal memory for storing beam positions and supports a user programmable sequencer for quick and efficient beam state selection. It has an integrated ADC for a temperature sensor and general analog inputs and supports 16 chip parallel addressability over a 4-wire SPI interface. This beamformer is available in a BGA package.
