The MMW9002KC from NXP is a 4-Channel Bidirectional Analog Beamforming IC that operates from 26.5 to 29.5 GHz. Both the Tx and Rx chains of this 5G Beamforming IC have a phase shifter and a variable gain amplifier (VGA). The IC has a high bit phase, good amplitude resolution, and on-chip power detectors that allow measurement of the power levels on all RF antenna pins. It provides a Tx P1dB of 19 dBm with a gain of 30.5 dB and an Rx gain of 25 dB. This beamforming IC can be controlled via an SPI interface. It is available in a RoHS compliant WLCSP leadless package that measures 4.39 x 3.59 x 0.5 mm and is ideal for wireless infrastructure, 5G NR, RAN & CPE, phased array antenna (AESA), and TDD systems applications.
